Job description
Sympower is quickly scaling its flexible asset trading and optimization platform in Europe. Our portfolio includes sizable BESS projects, corporate & industrial demand response programs, and renewable assets, which we optimize across wholesale and ancillary services markets.
The Sympower Data Analytics team is dedicated to delivering business intelligence (BI) reporting and self-service data capabilities. We collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business, ensuring our data is robust, accurate, and actionable at every point in the trade lifecycle.
As a Senior Energy Data Analyst at Sympower, your primary focus will be to deliver high-quality data and insights to support our operations across European energy markets, including support for real-time trading risk, regulatory compliance, and financial settlements. You will play a key role in ensuring our energy data & reporting — particularly related to Energy Data Management (EDM) and Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) — is reliable, auditable, and aligned with the requirements of TSOs, market operators, and internal stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical and communication skills with a deep understanding of energy market data and reporting processes. If you enjoy working with complex energy datasets and making sure the right insights reach the right people, we’d love to hear from you.

Lead architecture design when it comes to market, TSO, trade and EDM/ETRM data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery across multiple countries
Work closely with operational and commercial teams to understand data needs and develop effective solutions
Create and maintain reports and dashboards that support market operations, imbalance settlement, performance tracking, and risk management
Act as the internal expert on EDM/ETRM-related reporting, helping the business interpret and apply complex market and operational data
Work closely with other members of the Data teams — including Analytics, Data, and Machine Learning Engineers — to ensure energy reporting is accurate, complete, and aligned with Sympower’s data quality standards.
Job requirements
3–5 years experience in energy markets within a utility, consultancy or trading company
Familiarity with European electricity markets—particularly balancing, ancillary services, and BRP processes, including imbalance settlement, nominations, and TSO interfaces
Hands-on experience with data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools (e.g., Databricks, PowerBI, Python, dbt, etc.). An automation mindset, approach and skillset
Experience and affinity with mentoring and coaching other team members, helping them to grow
Good stakeholder communication and being comfortable presenting or facilitating meetings with different audiences, using the right level of detail
Experience with driving a project from start to end, including planning, task breakdown, discussions with stakeholders and working together with product management
Challenging and steering the team’s technical and product roadmap
Affinity for working in a fast-paced/growing scale-up company. You are a fast learner and can adapt quickly to new circumstances
Fluent in English required, and other languages are nice to have
