Job description
The Position
We are looking for an inspiring and hands-on analytical Product Manager Data to join Sympower's Product team and challenge us on building the right thing to help our customers accelerate the global transition towards 'net zero' with smarter and cleaner renewable energy systems.
You'll be collaborating with 10 other Product Managers and designers, alongside an engineering team-lead, to lead a team of 6 engineers in delivering impactful outcomes.
This is a full-time position remote/hybrid located in -1/+1 to central European timezone.

What you will do
As a Product Manager Data at Sympower, you'll play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive better decision-making across internal departments (Operations, Commercial, etc.) and the creation of new features to elevate our user experience.
Your primary focus will be on Data Analytics, where you'll work to build upon the existing foundation of the Data Platform, self-service data solutions, and BI dashboards. Given Sympower's current growth phase, it's crucial to empower our customers with insights on their performances. Second to that, you will also empower internal teams to derive insights from accessible data. This presents an opportunity for you to make a significant impact within the organization, contributing to Sympower's evolution into a mature, data-driven entity!
Your role will be focused on three key areas: strategy, execution, and user understanding.
Strategy
Drive the self-service analytics & data-informed decision-making throughout the company
Develop a strategy for maximizing the value of data as an independent product
Co-create and define the Product Roadmap alongside the other Product Managers
Provide context and guidance, empowering your team to have impactful results
Execution
Prioritise product outcome and capabilities based on research and data analysis
Set goals, define success metrics and motivate your team to achieve
Own team backlog & fulfilment, collaborate closely with the engineering team lead
Align stakeholders around the product outcomes
User understanding
Conduct customer, competitor, and market research to inform strategic decisions
Define behavioural questions, set the right analytics tool, measure, learn and adjust
Job requirements
What you will need
4 years’ experience as a product manager, working directly with a team of Analytics/Data engineers in agile methodologies
Strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience within the data domain (e.g. data pipeline development)
Experience with (BI) reports, dashboards, and visualisations, preferably with PowerBI and Databricks
Proficient in transforming raw data into actionable insights, drawing conclusions, and recommending appropriate actions
Experience with planning roadmap initiatives using the Double Diamond framework and prioritising them using various frameworks (weighted score, RICE, etc.) in product management tools such as Productboard, Airfocus, etc.
Proven ability of developing and managing complex software products with your team
Proven experience of proactive behaviour and contributing to the development of the product team culture
Experience within the energy industry beneficial
Experience with ELT data pipeline development, preferably with SQL and Python (Spark) also beneficial
Interest in user science techniques such as survey, interview, prototyping, A/B testing, analytics tools
