The Position

We are looking for an inspiring and effective Product Manager Lead to join Sympower's Product team and challenge us on building the right thing to help our customers accelerate the global transition towards 'net zero' with smarter and cleaner renewable energy systems.

You'll be collaborating with other Product Manager Leads, alongside Engineering managers, and lead a team of two to four Product Managers in delivering impactful outcomes.

This is a full-time position remote/hybrid located in -1/+1 to central European timezone.

Your role is a combination of a combination of People, Product Management, and product domain responsibility and accountability. You’ll focus, first similar to a Product Manager on three key areas: strategy, execution, and user understanding, and second as a Lead on People and Processes. This means you'll play a crucial part in shaping the direction of our products, ensuring their successful implementation, and deeply understanding the needs and experiences of our users. Moreover you’ll attract, coach, mentor, lead and retain your team members embodying our values while ensuring that we set the relevant Product management best practices in a scalable fashion to support our growth. What you will do

People

  • Mentor, coach and lead Product Managers of your domain

  • Attract and retain talented team members who align with our values and the needs of our business

Processes

  • Support and enhance the product development process

  • Work closely with Engineering Managers, other Product team members, and Leads of other departments to set the relevant processes for a constructive and effective collaboration

  • Elevate the data literacy of the team and broader organisation, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Strategy

  • Define and evangelize the Product Vision and Strategy of your domain to maximise its impact

  • Support the Head of Product to define the company product strategy

  • Provide context and guidance, empowering your team to have impactful results

  • You will have a broad and deep, holistic view of your domain to be a sparring partner for company leadership on strategic decisions

  • Externally, you will be a voice for Sympower and/or Product Management

  • Improve the visibility and positioning of the product team in the company

Execution

  • Assist PMs during the product development process from beginning to end

  • Support your PMs in prioritising their product outcomes, leveraging research and data analysis

  • Set goals, define success metrics and motivate your team to achieve

  • Align stakeholders on cross-departmental initiatives around product outcomes

  • Dive into the details of execution to lead by example as required

User understanding

  • Leading by example, you will advocate for the importance of user research and foster a culture that values direct user engagement

  • Support your team in defining the right analytics tools to measure, learn and adjust

  • Work with our Product Design Lead, leveraging various user science techniques to understand deeply the end users of your domain and set the right discovery and design practices in your team

Job requirements

What you will need

  • 7 years’ experience as a Product Manager with minimum 3 years of people management

  • Proven ability to go deep and quickly learn new domains, as well as solid understanding of all major parts of the business

  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery (agile methodology)

  • Proven experience with managing product development process of complex software products

  • Experience in people management, coaching and developing other people.

  • Proven ability to engage with both individual contributors and leaders of all levels in constructive and collaborative relationships

  • Excel and able to mentor others in stakeholder and conflict management

  • Demonstrated proactive behaviour in contribution to the development of a product team culture
