The position
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Desktop Support Specialist to provide technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure end users have seamless access to their desktop environments and associated applications, enabling smooth and uninterrupted business operations.


In addition to core technical support duties, this role will involve coaching our IT coordinators, handling escalated issues, meetings and events support.  The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who can take on project work.

Job requirements

What you will do

  • The role is on-site, and you will be located in Sympower's Amsterdam office.

  • Support all internal IT requests, serving as the main point of contact for more complex technical challenges.

  • Provide high -level technical assistance to resolve issues related to computer systems, hardware, software, and peripherals, ensuring high availability and reliability for end users.

  • Manage the inventory of Sympower’s technical equipment, such as laptops, mobile phones, and peripherals.

  • Follow up on vendor orders and delivery times.

  • Support the technical requirements for company meetings and events

  • Support new and existing projects to enable compliance and scaling.

  • Follow up on vendor orders and delivery times

  • Manage accounts and hardware for deployment for onboarding/offboarding and replacement devices for End Of Life (EOL).

  • Supporting Windows, MACOS, Android, IOS


What you will need

  • Experience: 3-5 years in similar role in a similar size company

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Google Workspace Suite, and common desktop applications. Strong experience in hardware troubleshooting and configuration.

  • Customer Service: Highly oriented in customer service

  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with other IT team members and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations.

  • Time Management: Proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple support requests, and work efficiently under pressure.

  • Software Expertise: Proficiency with key applications, including Google Workspace, Bitwarden, Office 365, Miro, Notion, and Slack.

  • Fluent in English and other languages are nice to have

Beneficial skills:
  • ISO Compliance Experience: Experience working in an ISO-compliant environment, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
