Job description
The position
Sympower is quickly scaling our flexible asset trading and optimization platform in Europe. Our portfolio includes sizable BESS projects, corporate & industrial demand response programs, and renewable assets, which we optimize across wholesale and ancillary services markets.
We are looking for a contractor to join our team for a period of approximately 6 months, as we become active on the wholesale trading markets for batteries in Finland. This role will support our efforts to upgrade, advance, and automate BRP processes across several functional areas: intraday continuous trading, day-ahead trading, multi-market optimisation (FCR, mFRR, ID and DA), ETRM system, real-time monitoring, integrated asset scheduling and steering based on market results, dataflows towards markets parties, like nomination / production plan, reporting, and invoicing.

What you will do
Translate high-level business requirements into detailed requirements for systems and data flows. The IT teams will use these requirements to develop all functionality.
Align on requirements with internal business teams (eg Trading, Operations, Finance) and the various IT teams: BESS team, Data Analytics and Data ML
Organise workshops to go in depth through the requirements with business functions and IT teams
Keep an updated overall view of all functionality to ensure that all systems and data flows are compatible
Investigate specific market regulations, such as data flows between market parties and the TSO
Serve as the point of contact, fielding questions from business teams and IT on scope and requirements for this effort
Assist the business in making test cases
Align with the project manager and the product teams on planning and progress
Job requirements
Fluent in English; with other European languages beneficial
3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in energy wholesale trading required
In-depth knowledge of wholesale trading processes
Experience as responsible Business Analyst for products that span across the following work processes:
Intraday continuous trading or day-ahead trading
Multi market optimisation
Ancillary services (FCR, aFRR, mFRR)
ETRM system
Real-time monitoring
Integrated asset scheduling and steering based on market results
Dataflows towards markets parties, like nomination / production plan
Reporting / Invoicing
Familiarity with market parties like grid operators and energy exchanges
Skilled in stakeholder management
Results-driven, with experience taking the lead in a start-up organisation
Familiar with software engineering and data engineering concepts.
