Job description
Sympower is looking for a talented BESS Program Manager to join our growing team. BESS (battery energy storage systems) has been recognized as a strategic segment for growth for Sympower in the coming years. Given the projected influx of BESS projects across Europe and the substantial impact they are expected to have on flexibility and energy markets, Sympower is strategically investing in new BESS projects as well as expanding current projects with existing customers.

What you will do
The BESS Program Manager responsibilities will be a blend of the 3 types of activities to ensure BESS Project success.
Project Management & Delivery
Manage BESS projects from contract signature through to operational success.
Coordinate internal teams (engineering, product, commercial, operations) to deliver on time and on budget.
Act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders (BESS owners, TSOs, DSOs, energy partners).
Track progress, manage risks, and report status to leadership and key stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
Facilitate alignment meetings and workshops with internal and external partners.
Prepare and deliver project status updates and presentations for leadership, partners, and other key stakeholders.
Maintain strong relationships with customers and partners to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities.
BESS Strategy & Organisation
Contribute to refining Sympower’s BESS offering by feeding back lessons learned and market insights from project delivery.
Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members in the BESS function.
Collaborate with strategy and commercial teams to ensure projects align with Sympower’s broader BESS roadmap.
Job requirements
5+ years’ relevant experience in energy, such as project management, engineering, asset development, or energy consulting.
Proven project management skills – able to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, and deliver complex technical projects.
Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities, with experience working across multiple internal teams and external partners.
Knowledge of battery storage systems and / or electricity markets; understanding of revenue models, business cases and technical delivery requirements is a strong plus.
Commercial and analytical capability, comfortable with financial assessments and budget management
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Gantt, risk management).
A hands-on, execution-driven mindset – comfortable driving progress and solving problems proactively.
Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with broader strategy.
Passion for the energy transition and motivation to work in a mission-driven organisation.
