The position

NOTE: The role is a temporary position for a maternity leave and is open for candidates that are available from mid/end November 2024 to May 2025. We are open to part-time arrangements as long as availability is pre-agreed for the contractual period.

We are looking for temporary Accounting Team Lead to be responsible for coordinating the work of the accounting team, identifying and collaborating on process improvements and timely delivery of accounting periods closure. Your primary focus will be timely closure of accounting periods and managing the team of 4 people while the team lead is on leave. Due to the period, the scope will include consolidation, supporting year end audit as well as coordinating annual returns and financial statements for our subsidiaries.

Job requirements

What you will do

  • Manage financial month end close process.

  • Overseeing accurate WKR tracking and reporting.

  • Reviewing and approving journals prepared by accountants.

  • Reviewing revenue and resource owner billing.

  • Reviewing monthly reconciliations and ensuring corrections are made and documented.

  • Filling and reviewing quarterly VAT returns for our Dutch entities.

  • Reviewing payment proposals and coordinating approvals.

  • Supporting group year end audit.

  • Supporting drafting group financial statements.

  • Coordinating preparation of financial statements and tax returns for our subsidiaries with external service providers and our internal teams..

  • Managing and supporting a team of 4 people (3 accountants and finance admin).

  • Supporting the Finance Manager as needed.


What you will need

  • Availability to work mid/end November 2024 to May 2025

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/ Accounting and/or professional accounting qualification.

  • At least 5 years of accounting or controlling experience, with minimum 2 years of team management experience.

  • Understanding of Netherlands accounting and tax law, as well as Dutch GAAP.

  • Strong technical skills (systems as well as excel/google sheets). NetSuite and Caseware experience is a strong advantage.

  • Proven record of successfully stepping into temporary roles.

  • Fluent in English and other languages are nice to have.
